This one was part of a public showing of 5 of my pieces in a nice business office ... And THIS ONE was stolen right off the wall!

Simultaneously a great compliment and also a made me angry.
PRO: Someone thought my work was worth acquiring enough to steal it. That’s the best critique I could have.

CON: However, why did they steal JUST ONE?! What was wrong with the other pieces? Not worth your time?

I filed a police report and they told me that there had been other art stolen in the county recently. They expected they were fenced by the perps for drugs. Again with the perps and the drugs.
The good news was that two years later, it was recovered.

This is a commissioned work by the Alpine Art Center in Alpine, Utah.

The objective was to create a large-format piece featuring a garden area that had become overgrown. It was created to fit a large wall adjacent the main entry that would becomes a focal piece in the reception area. 

Vaulted walls such as these can certainly evoke a sense of scale, but they can also be difficult to fit the overall design of the space without well-thought-out art or decorations built for the space. In this case, the interior design of the reception area features a

THEY TOTALLY ARE!

They are winter sports savvy but they are surfing more than they are skiing.

PLUS - they have an attitude. They are counterculture and that makes them cool by definition, these days.

What is more counterculture than shredding powder trails all around the provincial skiing community!
