This is a commissioned work by the Alpine Art Center in Alpine, Utah.

The objective was to create a large-format piece featuring a garden area that had become overgrown. It was created to fit a large wall adjacent the main entry that would becomes a focal piece in the reception area. 

Vaulted walls such as these can certainly evoke a sense of scale, but they can also be difficult to fit the overall design of the space without well-thought-out art or decorations built for the space. In this case, the interior design of the reception area features a

Snowboarders are gnarly.

THEY TOTALLY ARE!

They are winter sports savvy but they are surfing more than they are skiing.

PLUS - they have an attitude. They are counterculture and that makes them cool by definition, these days.

What is more counterculture than shredding powder trails all around the provincial skiing community!

CONSIDER LARGE ART FOR AVERAGE-SIZED WALLS

Well, it's simple: #LargeArt makes an impression. It makes a statement. It compliments a space in a big way.

I don't paint large exclusively, but so often it is the solution that buyers are looking for, and large paintings are not as common as smaller ones.
