Bobby Allison is known for his success in NASCAR but he once raced a Datsun 510 as a guest driver. In the 1972 Laguna Seca Trans Am 2.5 Challenge, he drove the guest #85 car for Peter Brock’s BRE Datsun team. The car has had several minor changes from year to year. This painting features Bobby in the paddocks of Laguna Seca in his authentic racing suit and the BRE is in its authentic livery and configuration for this race.
This painting is completely original image made from many hours of research and is a composite of dozens of images. The intent is to create or re-create a moment that could have existed. To my knowledge, there is no image that exists representing this moment,
